The LENS, or Low Energy Neurofeedback System, is a unique form of neurofeedback that has the capacity to address numerous symptoms and deficits. It can be remarkably effective, and you may have results quickly, often beginning with the first session. The number of treatments you may need to see a lasting benefit varies but the average is about 8-12 weekly sessions.
The LENS system works by listening to your brainwaves through sensors, one on each ear and one on a specific position on the scalp, and picking out key information about your brainwaves.
This information is used to create a unique signal that is sent back to your brain. This process is quick, lasting from just a few seconds and can go as long as a minute. This process creates an opening, an opportunity for your brain to adopt a more effective and appropriate processing method to respond to both your internal and external worlds. The results you may experience are a reduction in symptoms, greater energy, increased awareness and sometimes even elimination of symptoms.
LENS can help with many conditions including:
Cognition – Problems sequencing, memory, providing and maintaining attention, concentration, clarity and organization.
Mood – Anger, irritability, sadness, explosiveness.
Motor – Problems of eye-hand coordination, balance, spasticity and tremors.
Motivation – Problems initiating tasks, shifting from one activity to another and completing tasks.
Anxiety – Being stuck in the fight/flight response pattern, panic attacks, restlessness, rumination, agitation, distractibility and sleep interruption.
Reactivity – Hyper-reactivity, hypersensitivity, multiple chemical sensitivities.
Pain – Brain-generated pain, muscle spasm pain and vascular pain.
Addictions – Lack of clarity about emotions, motivation to change, defensiveness.
Fatigue – Chronic fatigue, fatigue stemming from trying to overcome pain.
Performance Optimization – Increases in functioning in the above areas.
Traumatic Brain Injury The LENS works extremely well with the symptoms of a traumatic brain injury no matter how long ago the incident occurred.
PTSD The LENS also works extremely well with the symptoms of PTSD like and anxiety, nightmares, depression and irritability.
Migraine Headaches– LENS may reduce the intensity, frequency and duration of migraines.
ADD/ADHD– Increases the ability to focus and the ability to move from one task to another and decreases the sensation of overwhelmingness and fatigue.
Insomnia– LENS relaxes the brain and autonomic nervous system which quiets the mind and allows the body to relax into better sleep.
Do the results last?
Yes. The results last for conditions related to dysregulation of the brain like anxiety and cognition issues. There are things that may hinder the effectiveness of LENS. If there is an underlying condition not being addressed like irritable bowel syndrome or an inflammatory condition, the effects of LENS treatment may not be as effective or last as long. Dr. Greg Lamont-Mitchell can also assess and treat these conditions using herbs, supplements and vitamins, clinical nutrition, homeopathy and lifestyle education. The combination of LENS and the Naturopathic treatments make two great treatment methods even better.
The literature, which lacks any negative study of substance, suggests that EEG biofeedback (neurofeedback) therapy should play a major therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion, if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy, it would be universally accepted and widely used.

LENS Neurofeedback Helps With
Chronic Stress
Stress can be very hard to deal with but LENS Neurofeedback can help you relax and better cope with stress in the future. It can give you lasting coping techniques.
Traumatic Brain Injury
The LENS Neurofeedback system works remarkably well to help restore function to the brain including better memory, less brain fog, and better balance.
PTSD
Neurofeedback has been proven to help with the issues arising from PTSD like anxiety, depression, insomnia, nightmares and lack of motivation.
