March is Brain Injury Awareness Month. Over 5 million Americans (just over 2% of the population) currently live with a disability resulting from a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Brain injuries are unpredictable in their consequences. A brain injury affects who we are, the way we think, act, and feel. It can change aspects of us in a matter of seconds. It is important to remember that no two brain injuries are alike, the effects can vary from person to person. A brain Injury can cause many issues depending on the severity of the injury.

  • Cognitive problems
  • Making bad business & personal choices

  • Difficulty or slowness with speaking, reading, or thinking

Treatment for Brain Injury

Once you have a brain injury the journey through recovery can be a long one. Of injuries to any part of the body, the brain can take the longest time to recover. Maintaining good health practices and taking brain-boosting supplements such as fish oil, magnesium, zinc, tumeric, and antioxidants such as Vitamins C and E, selenium and beta-carotene can help the brain recover.
