Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or emotional pain. In time, these energy blockages can cause illness or discomfort. Reiki aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way acupuncture or acupressure does. Increasing flow of energy can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
How it Works
Reiki is a relaxing treatment where natural healing vibrations are transmitted through the hands of the practitioner (acting as a conduit) to the body of the recipient, helping to restore balance to body, mind and spirit. The experience is subjective, changeable, and typically very subtle. Sometimes the experience of Reiki is dramatic, while for other people, the first session in particular may be uneventful, although they usually feel better afterward. The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation. Reiki is cumulative and even people who don’t notice much the first time usually have progressively deeper experiences as they continue.
